In this business, it is so frequent that we come across great authors that are trying to get their book published, and they feel as if everyone is against them. Why is everyone against them? Because they have submitted their children’s book manuscript to a variety of the big publishing houses and have just never heard anything back.
“Surely someone is going to notice my work,” a new author will say. And surely, someone will notice your work but it is going to take time and effort on your part. You need to keep in mind that the major publishing houses are overloaded with new authors sending in manuscripts, with query letters that aren’t that good enough to get attention.
You very well might have a manuscript – or more than one, that is more than deserving to having many little children reading your words, giggling and laughing, and reaching for your book off the shelf many times after the first time it was read to them.
But it is going to take a lot of patience and gumption on your part to get your work published. Especially if you are brand new and an unknown in the business. But don’t give up hope!
Instead of sending your manuscript to one of the major publishing houses, why not consider one of the smaller ones that specializes in children’s books? Click to learn more about children’s book publishers.
