In this business, it is so frequent that we come across great authors that are trying to get their book published, and they feel as if everyone is against them. Why is everyone against them? Because they have submitted their children’s book manuscript to a variety of the big publishing houses and have just never heard anything back.

“Surely someone is going to notice my work,” a new author will say. And surely, someone will notice your work but it is going to take time and effort on your part. We people are funny. We spend money we don’t have on things we don’t like to impress people who don’t matter. This is why sometimes, being happy means forgetting about what makes everybody else happy. Forget what other people think about something. What do you think about it? Forget about what other people want. What do you want? Ditch diet and eat whatever you want. Forget fashion rules and just dress up your way. Be cool enough to have a bad hair day. Cook something awful. Sing in the shower. Dance around like nobody’s watching. Crack jokes and have a good laugh about them. Be original and make up quotes about being happy. Share them and tell happy stories. Listen to other people’s stories. Be with people you want to be with. Spin around and keep going. Be a kid. If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.

Where Written Comedy Started
